Mercedes AMG S63 Cabriolet

The Mercedes AMG S63 Cabriolet offers a roofless experience in the luxury class beyond all understanding.

Luxury is something that can be defined in many ways. Mercedes' way of doing it in the form of the AMG S63 Cabriolet is crystal clear, nothing should be missing and whoever will own and drive this car should be surprised every day by the shapes, technology and performance the car offers.

Appearance to begin with, a four-seater cabriolet with shapes so sleek that the eyes melt when you stand next to it. A perfect creation, both with the fabric cover up and down. The deep luster in the paint with the color "Ruby black" gives an extra dimension to the car's shapes in the sunshine. In the front, in addition to the shiny Mercedes star in the middle, we also find the headlights. Something that is found on all cars but definitely not as on the AMG S63 Cabriolet. Here, there is the option of getting 47 Swarovski-cut crystals for turn signals and daytime running lights. The crystals sparkle incomparably day and night like a necklace on royalty. At the rear there are four chrome exhaust pipes that are anything but discreet when you select the sport mode and give full throttle. But let's get back to that later and take a look at the interior. Four armchair-like seats in light perforated leather, naturally with both heat, fan and massage. A very pleasant function is massage with heat, which should imitate the hot stones of the spa treatment against the middle of the back. The light leather is also dominant in the rest of the cabin with elements of sporty panels in black carbon fiber. The roof pillars and steering wheel are covered in black and gray alcantara. Fan outlet and buttons are made of brushed aluminium. The lid of the center console compartment is adorned with a shimmering Swarovski crystal. The analog gauges in front of the steering wheel have now had to give way to two wide screens. One containing the speed and tachometer and the other navigation and infotainment. Something that is not visible during the day in the sunlight is panel lighting that can be changed colour. At the bottom of all panels and moldings it lights up, thoughts go to a spaceship when driving in the dark.

Nothing has been spared in the AMG S63 Cabriolet and this also applies to the sound system from Burmester. A total of 24 speakers are installed with a total of 1520 watts. Regardless of what you appreciate about music, the experience will take you to another musical world. On days when you also want to get in a different mood, there is a scent package with four different scents. In the glove compartment is the container that spreads the scent in the passenger compartment via the climate control system. If none of Mercedes' own scents attract you, it is of course possible to get your own alternative if desired. A ionization system is also available, which purifies the air in the passenger compartment.

The performance of the AMG S63 Cabriolet can easily be compared to a super sports car. The 5.5 liter twin-tube V8 engine generates 585 horsepower and 900 Newton meters of torque. 0-100 is completed in just 3.9 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour. With a push of the driving program selector in the center console from comfort to sport, the car transforms from glider. The engine's roaring power literally screams out through the tailpipes back there. If you drive in a tunnel, no one will miss that a cannonball is coming with full force. The sound drowns out everything in its path and the goosebumps are a fact!

To really go in-depth with the AMG S63 Cabriolet would require all of this magazine's space and then some. This is a display from the time-honored brand that knows what luxury beyond the human means. With a price tag that is also out of the ordinary, only a few people will be able to afford to experience this dream on four wheels.

Quote from Fredrik Wahrolen.

“Who is the buyer? For those who really want to treat themselves to something extra in the driving and riding experience, like jumping on a yacht on the Riviera. Hard to find anything to compare this car to. Usually try to play down quotes like this but this car is something beyond the extra. This is not a volume car, but great interest has been shown nonetheless. By the end of the year, around twenty cars in Sweden. The first car in over 40 years where we enter the four-seater luxury convertible segment.”
