The eCar Expo electric car fair, which you could read about here on carscollection.com, has really grown. So much so that I had actually assumed that they were still in the Friends Arena where they were last year. But eCar Expo had actually moved to Stockholmsmässan. So there I was, feeling pretty stupid in the morning and outside Friends Arena. Of course, I had not read properly and followed the developments. So eCar Expo has grown so much that they can now be held in a real exhibition centre and not inside a sports arena.

Once inside the eCar Expo at Stockholmsmässan, I was offered very nice things and actually right when I entered. In the first exhibition hall, the American car brand Rivian and their owners' club, the Rivian Owners Club, put up their two models R1T and R1S. You can read about both models here on carscollection.com because I did test drives and reports on both when I was in Miami, USA in 2024. R1S I am actually the first and only Swedish journalist who drove and made a report on.

Rivian Owners Club bought some of the pictures I took in Miami at R1T and R1S to be included on Monaco Yacht Show last year when they were present. They had brought a display banner that stood between the cars on their stand at eCar Expo. On that display banner were my pictures of R1T and R1S printed. So it was a very positive welcome right away when I entered the eCar Expo and see my pictures on a stand. Rivian is a nice brand that deserves a closer look. Read my articles on R1T and R1S. Rivian also has the R2 and R3 models in the pipeline. Of course, I will return with articles when test drives of those models are out.

Just a couple of stands into eCarExpo 2025 stood the next car I am actually also still the first and only Swedish journalist to drive and write about, namely Tesla Cybertruck! In addition to Cybertruck Tesla also with two Model Y generation 2 and a Model 3 generation 2. You can read about the Model Y generation 2 here at carscollection.com as it was a car I have just driven and done a report on.

Pretty much as soon as I entered the eCar Expo, Renault had the unveiling of their model Laban, or sorry Renault 4 E-Tech Electric as it is actually called. But it is based on the classic model nicknamed Laban. The same Renault model that features in Fredrik and Filip's film "The last journey". Where they drive down to France with Filip's father Lars in just a Laban a Renault 4. I will of course return with a test drive article here on carscollection.com of the new Renault 4 E-Tech Electric when it is made. In Renault's stand there was also Renault 5 which looks really fun! I will of course also do a test drive and article about it as soon as possible.

Among the larger stands at eCar Expo 2025 was Polestar. Curiously, their sibling brand Volvo was not present, although Volvo has several new models. These include EX30 Cross country you can read about here on carscollection.com. But also the larger model ES90 that has just been presented. But as the title of this article reads, there were many major brands besides Volvo that were not present. To name a few, BMW, Ford and Mercedes were not there. There were some others that were also missing. So those that were there obviously got a lot of focus. Because eCar Expo is actually a nice car show that deserves a visit.

I Polestars stand, you could take a look at all of their models except Polish 1. However, you can read about it here on carscollection.com. Polestar 2 and 4 you can also read about here on carscollection.com. Polestar 3 is running and the article is in production now. In addition to the above-mentioned models, Polestar also had the models they had at the ice race 2025 FAT International Ice Race in Zell am See in Austria. The models have been given the collection name Arctic Circle.

Among the cars you could see in Hyundais On the stand you could take a look at the new model IONIQ 9. A test drive of the IONIQ 9 will of course come here on carscollection.com. Before then, you will be able to read about the Santa Fe model that is tested and the article in progress.

Behind the Hyundai stand were Lotus stand. There they showed Eletre, as well as the model Emeya. I drove Emeya last year and you can read an article about it here on carscollection.com. Eletre I had out with due to some things, the photography was never made and article not produced. Will of course take up that ball as the car model is very interesting.

I Volkswagens There were quite a few models on display. But the one that got the most attention was the small, cute and very sporty ID GTI Concept. A car I'm really looking forward to test driving when the time comes. At the Volkswagen stand, a radio-controlled Volkswagen ID 7 Tourer was driving around with a bowl of sweets.

The cars Cadillac on display was the LYRIC model. A model that was brand new at last year's eCar Expo. Thanks to the contact I made with Cadillac then and at eCar Expo 2024, I was invited down to the international test drive of LYRIC which was located on the French Riviera. You can read my article about the Cadillac LYRIC here. The model that Cadillac showed next to the LYRIC was the new OPTIQ. A slightly smaller and sportier model than the LYRIC. I will of course return when the test drive is done.

I Porsches stand, in addition to Macan Turbo, which I just had and which is in the pipeline for an article. But at Porsche's stand you could also see the very sporty version of the Taycan, namely the Turbo GT with Weissach Package. Thanks to its 1,034 electric horsepower, you can shoot from standstill to 100 kilometres per hour in just 2.2 seconds. I can't actually promise a test drive of it, but I will of course do my utmost to make it happen.

So even though many of the bigger brands weren't present at the show, there was still a lot of new stuff to check out. Obviously more than what I have included here in this article. But if I were to include everything, this would be a very long article. In addition to Stockholm, the fair will also be held in Gothenburg. But also in Norway and Denmark. So when the fair comes near you, I can highly recommend a visit.
