Those of you who have been following me and carscollection.com may have seen that I did an article from the Swedish test drive of the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce. That test drive was done at the Arlanda test track outside Stockholm. I've had the car for a week now and have had more time to get to know it.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce is a very nice little electric SUV, on the condition that you live in the city. For longer distances you will not be able to drive with this car. According to the WLTP, it's supposed to do 322 kilometres, and that's not exactly a long distance. Add to that the fact that it's colder than 25 degrees, there's a bit of a headwind, and you might be just over the speed limit. Well, you'll be lucky if you get over 250 kilometres. So with that said, I can say that the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce is not a long-distance car.

If we ignore how far a fully charged battery will take you and focus instead on how the car drives, the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce is a very pleasant car to be behind the wheel of! It feels well tailored, like a good suit. The size of the car, unless you have a large family, is perfect. It is just the right size both inside and out. The boot at the back does hold 400 litres with the seats up, so you can take a lot with you if you need to.

When it comes to comfort, you sit extremely well in the front seats, which are very sporty. The upholstery is made of both alcantara and leather, which is both sober and sporty. When it turns properly, you do not slide around in the chair. The steering wheel is also partially upholstered in alcantara, so you get a good grip on it when the road is no longer straight.

Let's look at the driving experience and what the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce has to offer. 0 to 100 kilometres per hour takes 5.9 seconds. By comparison, it's 0.1 seconds slower than the Ferrari Testarossa. That says a lot about how fast electric cars have become today. If we were to compare with a family car from the 1980s, the 0 to 100 kilometres per hour time would be extremely slow compared to what the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce can do.

Since I have already written a longer article about Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce I will keep this article shorter and instead focus on the pictures I took one evening out on Lidingö when I test drove the car. Now that I'm an Alfa Romeo owner myself, I'm obviously a little extra passionate about this brand. I could definitely see myself living with an Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica Veloce. It's got what it takes, and as long as you don't have to drive far, I don't see the short range as a major problem.
