It's a sunny day in June when the magnificent Norrvikens Trädgård opens its gates for the second time for the annual car show The Aurora Concours. This prestigious event, which this year attracted the eyes of enthusiastic car lovers, is a celebration of classic cars and the timelessness of design. With its scenic surroundings and breathtaking landscape, Norrvikens Trädgårdar provides the perfect backdrop for a day filled with nostalgia, passion and elegant vehicles.
This is the second year of The Aurora Concours. You could read about last year's The Aurora Concours here on carscollection.com. Even then, I thought it was an impressive effort from our little country up north. But the level they had raised it to this year was really something else. Now The Aurora Concours has reached well-deserved world class! Just like last year, The Aurora Concours was held in Norrvikens Trädgårdar outside Båstad, a very beautiful and fitting place on the west coast of southern Sweden.
My contact with those involved, especially Filip Larsson who is the founder and CEO, goes back a long time. Some of his cars I had to take out and which you could read about here. Marcus Berggren, Petter Eneman, Andreas Bergman and Eddie Pfitzner, to name a few, have also been in contact with me for a long time. It is clear how many hours they have put into putting this exhibition and event together. Johan Pärson from Koenigsegg and the moderator JP Rathgen should also be mentioned.
Highlights of the event included a dizzying array of both new and old classics. But the car that probably drew the most attention was Koenigsegg's updated version of the Jesko model, with the addition of Sadair's Spear. Jesko Sadair's Spear was unveiled on Wednesday, the same week that The Aurora Concours opened its doors. Jesko Sadair's Spear is, as I said, an update that is even more extreme than the original version of Jesko launched in 2019. Incidentally, I helped Koenigsegg with photos of the Jesko ahead of its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show that year. Here you can read my article about Koenigsegg Jesko.

Now Jesko Sadair's Spear has a 5-litre V8 that produces a whopping 1,300 horsepower if you run it on petrol. If you run Jesko Sadair's Spear on E85, however, you squeeze out a full 1,625 horsepower. I was recently at GoodWood festival of speed in England, and an article from there will be here soon. There, Koenigsegg, with Markus Lundh behind the wheel, managed to break the track record for production cars. The new time for Jesko Sadair's Spear is now 47.14 seconds. More about the GoodWood festival of speed in a later article.

Among the car companies exhibiting cars at The Aurora Concours were of course MOTIKON, of which Filip Larsson is the Managing Director. MOTIKON had a large number of cars on display, both old classics, but also some new cars.

BMW Sweden was co-organiser of The Aurora Concours. BMW had brought many nice classic BMW models, but they had also brought some very extreme concept models. How about a 1999 BMW Z3 with a 5.4-litre V12 engine? BMW also brought a BMW M8 based on the 8-series (E31) with a V12 engine where the focus was on weight reduction in addition to power. Then there was also a BMW X5 Le Mans on site. Also with a 6.1-litre V12 engine from BMW's Le Mans winning car.

In addition, BMW is celebrating 50 years this year with BMW Art Cars. BMW Art Cars is about letting famous artists paint classic BMW models into rolling works of art. The BMW Art Cars art project started in 1975, the year I was born. At The Aurora Concours, there were four models from BMW Art Cars: a 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL painted by Alexander Calder, a 1977 BMW 320 Group 5 painted by Roy Lichtenstein, a 1979 BMW M1 Group 4 painted by Andy Warhol, and a 2010 BMW M3 GT2, which was the latest model painted by Jeff Koons.

Daytona Automobile from Västerås had a number of very nice cars on site, including the most expensive car of the weekend, a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, with only 40 made. Here you can read my article about Pagani Huayra. The most expensive car at The Aurora Concours 2025 was a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Alloy", valued at €10 million. Cars like Sadair's Spear and the CC850 were more expensive, but the Pagani is clearly in the same league. Daytona Automobile also brought a Mercedes-AMG One and a Mercedes-McLaren SLR Stirling Moss. They also showed a Lamborghini Countach, a Lamborghini Diablo GT and many other impressive cars!

Swedish British Auto, which is the Swedish general agent for English Morgan, was also present. You will soon be able to read an article here on carscollection.com about my visit to the Morgan factory I made before the GoodWood festival of speed. There I did a test drive of the Morgan Super 3 and Plus Four. At The Aurora Concours, British Auto had a fully chromed 3 Wheeler. A Plus Four, as well as the latest model Supersport. A model that I will be travelling down to British Auto to test drive for an upcoming article.

Among the cars that really stood out were the Italian brand Kimera Automobili. Kimera Automobili is an Italian company specialising in manufacturing high-performance cars and restomods. Founded by former rally driver Luca Betti, the company recreates iconic cars of the past by combining classic design with modern technology. At The Aurora Concours, Kimera Automobili brought two of its models, the EVO037 and EVO038, which are based on the classic Lancia Rally 037, built in the early 1980s. As a child, I had a radio-controlled car made by Tamiya based on a Lancia Rally 037, so my heart beat extra hard when I saw Kimera's cars.

If you were to choose one of the older cars that really stood out, Kjell Ståhl's Audi Horch 853A from 1939 was something special. Kjell has been restoring this car for fifty years from a condition that many people thought was time to go to the scrapyard. Of course, you don't do that if you know what a unique car this is. Kjell has really managed to restore the car to its original condition. A joy to see, without exaggerating.

One car that I was actually tasked with helping to photograph was Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail, via a girl called Karolina from Poland. Karolina works for Ferrari in Poland and has a lot of contacts. I met Karolina through Gran Turismo Events and their event in Poznań, Poland. Karolina asked me to help with photographing the Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail.

The car features a bespoke interior and unique paintwork inspired by the golden era of Gran Turismo, not to be confused with Gran Turismo Events but the legendary Mille Miglia. This AGTZ pays tribute to the heritage and racing spirit of motorsport. The technically demanding twin-tail solution is entirely developed in Italy and has already received high praise. The paintwork, developed in close collaboration with the customer, evokes the iconic Renault A220 and interprets key elements of French motorsport history with a bold and contemporary touch.

This article could be incredibly long, because so many unusual, beautiful and exciting cars were there. In addition to the car companies that brought cars, private individuals also brought many vehicles. Among them, two people stood out more than others: Ronnie Gustafsson and Chante Hovsepian. The list of cars Ronnie and Chante brought to The Aurora Concours is long. The longest list is for the cars Ronnie brought. How about a Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition, a Porsche 918 Spyder, a McLaren P1, a Ferrari 812 GTS, a Ferrari 488 Pista and a Porsche 992 GT3 RS full Manthey. Chante's cars followed: a Mercedes-AMG G63, a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and a McLaren P1. Rather than make this article too long, I have spoken to both Ronnie and Chante about doing separate articles on their car collections and both have said yes.
Many partners, to name the largest and most important, are BMW, JP Morgan, Koenigsegg and MOTIKON, who were the main partners of the event. In addition, more than thirty partners contributed to the event in various ways.
The Aurora Concours also had a yacht show down in Båstad harbour. Unfortunately, I did not attend that show, as I lack knowledge about boats.
Some selfies of significant people I got to meet during the weekend. Filip Larsson, founder and CEO of The Aurora Concours. Christian von Koenigsegg, Sebastian von Koenigsegg, Magnus Walker, Chante Hovsepian and Stefan "Lill-Lövis" Johansson

A few goodies among all the beautiful and cool cars on site: first an Aston Martin DB5, then the back of an Aston Martin Vanquish. Then a Fiat 500 painted by Stefan "Lill-Lövis" Johansson, followed by an Audi RS6 GT - by the way, a car you can soon read an article about here on carscollection.com. Then my friend Peter Söderberg's McLaren 675LT, and a Mercedes-AMG G63 Cabriolet. Last but not least, a Koenigsegg Regera in full carbon.

The winners of The Aurora Concours 2023 were a 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 named 'Best of Show - Classic Car' and a 2023 Koenigsegg CC850 named 'Best of Show - Hypercar'. Other winners include a 1957 Talbot-Lago T14 LS in the "Preservation Award" category, and a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder which received the "President's Award". In addition, a unique Kimera EVO38, mentioned above, received the "Restomod Glory" award.
All in all, and to conclude this article, I can highly recommend a visit to The Aurora Concours 2026! The Aurora Concours 2026 will take place from 26-28 June in Norrvikens Trädgårdar.
