If you feel that Lamborghini is your brand but that you are most comfortable when it only drives the rear wheels, then maybe the Hurac\u00e1n RWD LP580 -2 is for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hurac\u00e1n model took over from the successful Gallardo model that helped make Lamborghini what they are today. Something that was largely, if not entirely, due to Audi coming in as a new owner in 1998. The first model after the takeover was the Gallardo, which was produced in a total of 14,000 copies. The Gallardo managed to be released in a multitude of variants during its lifetime. Among other things as a signed version of the legendary test driver Valentino Balboni. Then with the model designation LP550-2 where the second stood for rear wheel drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting a car signed doesn't happen to everyone. But Signore Balboni's time at Lamborghini justifies it with his work stretching back as far as the 60s and the Miura era. In the mid-90s, Lamborghini switched completely to four-wheel drive, thanks in large part to Audi's entry into the company whose technology relies heavily on four-wheel drive. So since then, Balboni has had to live with this, even though he is known for wanting to go wide and with a rear wheel cable. Around 2010, 250 examples of the Gallardon were built with Mr Balboni's signature. Thanks to the rear-wheel drive, 30 kilos could be reduced from the front axle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The name is Spanish for hurricane<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the successor to the Gallardo was introduced and named the Hurac\u00e1n. The model had all the updates that were really needed to carry on the legacy. Above all, a super fast double clutch box. From the beginning, the Hurac\u00e1n, like the Gallardo, was powered by a four-cylinder engine. In 2015, and with the Los Angeles Auto Show, the rear-wheel drive version of the Hurac\u00e1n was presented. However, not with Mr Balboni's signature this time. As the designation reveals, the horsepower number is 580 and with a torque of 540 newton metres. 33 kilograms have been managed to be slimmed down thanks to the rear-wheel drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like the regular Hurac\u00e1n, the LP580-2 also comes as a roofless version with the Spyder add-on. Only 17 seconds are needed for the sky to be your roof. In my opinion, the V10 engine from Lamborghini, which is also found in the Audi R8, is among the absolute most sonorous you can find. It has a deep and furious character that is at the same time silky smooth for the soul. It really lives a life of its own that makes you happy every time you hear it. In the Hurac\u00e1n RWD Spyder you get maximum power from this wonderful engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What differentiates the four-wheel-drive version from the rear-wheel-drive version is above all cornering. It is clearly felt how much lighter the rear-wheel drive front is with a better steering angle. However, it is somewhat more unstable at high speeds compared to the four-wheel drive, where the power of the front wheels helps to stabilise when going really fast. However, these are details that are left entirely up to the buyer to decide. In any case, Lamborghini has given you the opportunity to choose so you will never have to choose the joy of being able to enjoy the fantastic song of the V10 engine every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
