A model that hit internationally, and also well in Sweden, was the 404 from 1960-1988, which was produced in 2,885,374 examples. It has been three years since Peugeot launched the model in 2008 in connection with the Geneva motor show in 2013. On the same ground, the updated version was also presented. In the changes that have taken place, we find both safety-related news, more technology and cosmetic changes. On the sides, there are now black fender flares around the wheel arches that significantly enhance the robust appearance. The base part has not received any major changes and still has its generous tailgate which, together with a low height of the load threshold, makes loading very smooth. With the rear seats fully folded, the 2008 swallows a whopping 1,194 litres. With the seats folded up, 350 liters can be stored in the back. The interior dimensions are also perceived as generous and you sit very well in the driver's seats. This is not exactly a long-distance wagon for the continent, but if you plan breaks to stretch your legs, the journeys can be made long. To really get the space in the cabin, there is a large panoramic glass roof to tick off the options list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A convenience that really makes a difference, which you can now find in 2008, is that support for Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink is available in the infotainment system. With a USB cable to your smartphone, selected "apps" appear on the car's touchscreen. If you have added an address with directions to your map application before departure, this will immediately appear on the screen. All your music is easily accessible and you can dictate messages and have them read aloud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To really fulfill everyone's needs when it comes to engine options, there are a total of eleven variants to choose from. Five diesels and six petrol engines with between 75 horsepower in the most frugal diesel and up to 130 in the strongest petrol engine. If you choose the weakest diesel, you will come down to a consumption of a paltry 0.36 liters per mile. Most options are available with either a manual or automatic transmission. No one should feel unsafe either in or out of a 2008, which is why an auto brake system is now fitted as standard on all cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driving feel of the 2008 is simple but not boring for that matter. This is thanks to its compact format but the fact that you sit slightly higher than other cars of the same size. Inside the city, it's easy to get around and finding a suitable parking slot is just as easy. On the country road outside the city, the noise level is minimal even when the speed is increased. When the straight country road is replaced by a winding forest road, 2008 surprises how sporty it suddenly feels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
