When a car has the RS option, you know it should be a lot of fun as a driver behind the wheel. The Skoda Enyaq with that particular add-on, the Skoda Enyaq RS, is no exception! What's more, the press car I borrowed had a really bright colour that meant no one could miss it. Not even the police who showed themselves from their best side. But more on that later in the article. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Volkswagen's takeover of Skoda in 1991, Volkswagen has pumped in an incredibly large amount of money. In 2016, the sum was as much as SEK 102 billion. In 1993, the former Czechoslovakia was divided into Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Skoda is the Czech Republic's most important employer; in 2014, Skoda accounted for 4.5 per cent of the Czech Republic's GDP, while around eight per cent of the country's total exports were Skoda products. I have actually owned a Skoda. The first new car I bought was a Skoda Yeti. A car I was very happy with, and then I went from a fully equipped Audi A6 Avant with Recaro interior. But the Skoda really served its purpose. Of course I did an article on the Yeti which you can read here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I go to pick up the Skoda Enyaq RS, there is a similar Enyaq RS fixed Coup\u00e9 next to the car I am going to have. Actually, I personally think this model fits a little better in that design. When I contacted Viktor, who is the press officer at Skoda, he said that there was no press car. There was, however, an Enyaq RS Coup\u00e9 but it was solid grey in colour. Therefore, I chose to keep the yellow Enyaq RS that I was assigned. I thought that a yellow car always looks better in pictures and I probably made the right choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Enyaq model is a pure electric car and was presented in 2020. Its cousins based on the same platform are Volkswagen ID.4<\/a>. You also have to include the Volkswagen ID.5 as the Enyaq Coup\u00e9 is the closest relative. Now, however, this article is about the Skoda Enyaq RS. The Enyaq RS is a bit more spacious and suitable for a family than the Coup\u00e9. So if you are a family member who is looking for that little extra in the car you will have as a means of transport and want to drive on 100% electricity but are looking for a more fun car than many others, you should continue reading this article. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, the police were at their best this evening when I went to photograph the car. However, it was not because I had done anything dangerous or broken the law that they turned a blind eye. I had decided that I would take the pictures of the car down at Sergels torg in central Stockholm. The technique I use is a so-called rigging technique. You put a long tripod on the car and then drive slowly with a slow shutter speed. Then you edit out the tripod so it looks like the camera is flying in front of the car driving very fast. As I stood there on the pavement, a Volkswagen Mutlivan police car came first. They stopped and checked what I was doing. I then preceded them and said that the officer probably wondered what I was doing? Of course he did. I then told them about the technology I work with and how I go about it and that I obviously have a good view both for people who may come walking, the car and of course my equipment which is very sensitive. I assured the police officers in the car that I would only occupy the place for a short time and of course hurry away. The man in the driver's seat who spoke for the police said that they had not seen me and that I could continue but leave when I was done. I thanked him very much and continued. Then two more police cars arrived during my photo session and when I told them what their colleagues had said, they let me continue. The result was the speed picture from the front with the crystal vertical accent behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To go back to the car that this article is actually about. The Volkswagen Group always builds good cars and you know, so to speak, what you get. And here too, the Skoda Enyaq RS is no exception! Immediately when you get in the car, you know where things are located as most things are in the same places in the Volkswagen Group's cars. Then, as with all electric cars, there is a terribly good pull from the millisecond you think down the accelerator. Maybe not the same pull as in Tesla Model X Plaid<\/a> which was the CarsCollection.co.uk test drive article before this one. But still much more than an equivalent car with petrol or diesel engine. Then that it is so quiet and comfortable is something you get used to very quickly. The engine noise that you miss from a slightly sportier car like this with an RS emblem is probably a generational issue. In the future, people will probably be more bothered by it than enjoy it. In the Skoda Enyaq RS, it's quiet but sporty in a very comfortable way. If a car with an RS emblem is to be described with the word comfortable? Probably the term sporty comfortable and so it works just fine to describe Skoda Enyaq RS with two words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
