My relationship with Italy and Lamborghini can be made long thanks to my father Bengt Ason Holm. I was with him several times in Italy and at the Lamborghini and Ferrari factories when he produced the car book series Cars Collection. Once when I was with him in 1990, and at the Lamborghini factory, the very last version of the Lamborghini Countach of the first generation was built. In the picture below you can see it being built, and as a curious fifteen-year-old I am standing next to my father when he takes the picture. A car that Lamborghini chose to keep and which can be seen in their museum at the factory today. On my trip in October 2024 and when I arrived at Lamborghini, the silver Countach was standing outside the factory and being filmed for something. By the way, the Lamborghini Countach turned 50 years old as a model last year, in 2024. I did an article about it and as you can read here on carscollection.com<\/a>. In addition to the silver Countach, there was also a white Lamborghini Revuelto parked outside the factory for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Revuelto is the heir to the Lamborghini Aventador. I have had the opportunity to test drive the Lamborghini Aventador several times and in many versions. The first time already in 2011 and in the version LP-700-4<\/a>. Late 2017 in the version Aventador S<\/a>. 2020 it was time for the worst version Aventador SVJ<\/a>. I have also been down to take out the factory's Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4SV<\/a> for a test drive and article. Murcielago was the model before Aventador. So to follow up Lamborghini's V12 model programme with a test drive of the Lamborghini Revuelto feels incredibly cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combining a powerful V12 engine that already has 825 horsepower with electricity sounds like unnecessary spending of electric horses. But the result achieved in the Lamborghini Revuelto is truly astonishing. In addition to the V12 engine, the Lamborghini Revuelto is equipped with three electric motors. One of the electric motors is mounted on top of the 8-speed gearbox with dual-clutch technology. As well as powering the V12 to drive the rear wheels, it acts as a generator and starter motor. The output is 150 horsepower at 10 000 rpm. The other two electric motors drive the front wheels. They are each 150 horsepower but peak power is reached at 3 500 rpm. The V12 engine in the Revuelto has 825 horsepower and together with the three electric motors, which together have 190 horsepower, the total number of horsepower in the Lamborghini Revuelto is 1,015. These are really serious numbers and should make everything else stand still, and it does!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have read my recent articles here on carscollection.com<\/a> and from my trip to Italy in October 2024, have been able to read about Jeep Wrangler Militem Fer\u014dx E<\/a>, Maserati Gran Turismo 75th Anniversary<\/a>, Dallara Stradale<\/a> and Ferrari Purosangue<\/a>. In those articles I wrote about the worst weather the Emilia-Romagna area had experienced in a very long time just before I arrived. Luckily it didn't rain on the days I was down there but had done the days before I arrived. But this day when I had to take out the Lamborghini Revuelto, the road was wet at times just like the days before with the other cars. But thanks to the four-wheel drive, which most Lamborghini models are now equipped with, the car was relatively easy to control despite the wet road surface. All-wheel drive is something that came into play for Lamborghini when Audi took over the brand in the late nineties. So the Lamborghini Revuelto is relatively easy to handle despite the wet tarmac and the number of horses that want to get out and gallop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the risk of sounding boastful, I must mention that the list of the number of Lamborghini models I have been able to drive and do articles on can be made long. As mentioned earlier in this article, I have several times been able to go down to the factory and lend Lamborghini models to do test drives and articles about. But despite that, my heart still beats just as hard when I arrive at the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Then getting behind the wheel and closing the door that opens upwards on the Lamborghini Revuelto, just like the other V12 models, makes your heart race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This day's test drive also went to a ski resort just like the day before when I drove the Ferrari Purosangue up to Abetone. The road again offered many challenging and tight curves, but nothing that the Lamborghini Revuelto was affected by. With full control despite the amount of horsepower, the car behaved exemplarily. I consider myself a relatively experienced and good driver but of course the amount of safety systems helps to keep such a powerful car on the road. Although I always thought my father was a good driver, I don't think he could have handled the Lamborghini models he was travelling with, the Countach and the Diablo, in the same way I was now driving the Lamborghini Revuelto. When he was down in Italy and at the factory, he was instead out with the somewhat iconic test driver from Lamborghini called Valentino Balboni<\/a>. Valentino Balboni is a legend and I get jealous when I think of the stories my father told me when he came back from his travels and had been out with Valentino Balboni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we focus on the details of the Lamborghini Revuelto, they are, as usual, a delight to the eye. It is not quite the Italian perfection as with Ferrari, for example. You feel the German vein from Audi that Lamborghini cars now have. But I certainly don't write that as something negative as I actually like the German perfection with the Italian nerve. It is in my opinion a very good combination!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My experience with the Lamborghini Revuelto is definitely very positive. Finishing my week in Italy with this monster with over a thousand horse craters was really something special. Despite the lousy weather in the Emilia-Romagna area just before I came down, I could actually enjoy the cars. A new trip to Italy is being planned at the time of writing and then Pagani has welcomed me for test drives of their models. Also a list is at Lamborghini for the classic models to follow in my father's footsteps. So \"stay tuned\" as they say in the big country in the west for us here in Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
