This is the second time I visit the car festival Goodwood Festival of Speed<\/a> in the UK. It's not just a festival where car brands and private collectors can show off their cars - it's also a race where the cars drive up a hill, and of course the time it takes is incredibly important. This year a new record was set for production cars. But more on that later in the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So for me it was the second time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The first time I was there was in 2018, when I was invited by the car brand W Motors<\/a> from Dubai when they showed their models Lykan Hypersport<\/a> and Fenyr Supersport<\/a>. With the Fenyr Supersport they also drove up the hill. I helped W Motors document their presence at the festival, and the following week I also helped them with photos of both models in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the festival area is designed around a hill where the cars drive uphill, there is a lot of walking during the days. Of course, the fact that it was over 30 degrees this year didn't help, especially when there's so much to see and you want to be everywhere at once. You simply have to choose what to focus on, which I have partly done in this article. There is also another festival organised here called Goodwood Revival<\/a>, which instead focuses on classic and historic cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My interest in old cars, and especially vintage cars, is unfortunately influenced by the fact that my father, Bengt Aston Holm, was alive. He often took me to various vintage car rallies, while I just wanted to skateboard. But when he took me to Italy and we visited Lamborghini and Ferrari, my interest in cars really started to awaken. I still had my skateboard with me, so for a period in the early 90s I had an iron grip on every staircase and kerb you could skateboard on at the factories we visited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goodwood Festival of Speed therefore suits me much better, as I have an incredible interest in new - and above all sporty - hypercars. And there are plenty of them at the Goodwood Festival of Speed! 2025 was definitely no exception. Our country up here in the north even took home the back record for production cars. But more on that in a moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I said, this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed was really something special. I can't think of a single super sports car brand that wasn't there. Even the more mainstream brands were there, all keen to show off what they had and drive up the hill. In addition, there were plenty of older classic cars, both racing and sports cars, and many of them also drove up the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as I've already mentioned, the record for production cars was broken this year. The car was none other than the brand new Koenigsegg<\/a>-model Jesko Sadair's Spear. The previous record was held by Czinger<\/a> 21C in 48.8 seconds. The new Koenigsegg time up the hill was 47.14 seconds, with test driver Markus Lundh behind the wheel. Those of you who keep an eye on carscollection.com may have seen that I wrote about Koenigsegg Jesko Sadair's Spear, which Koenigsegg presented just a few days before the event Aurora Competition<\/a>which was held on 27-29 June. Very impressive what they managed to do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record was set thanks to the Koenigsegg Jesko Sadair's Spear being equipped with a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers 1,300 hp on regular petrol and up to 1,625 hp on E85 - via Koenigsegg's super-fast 9-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), without flywheel. Jesko Sadair's Spear has a dry weight of around 1,320kg, giving it almost a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, thanks to around 35kg weight reduction compared to the Jesko Attack. 0 to 100 kilometres per hour is achieved in 2.53 seconds, and after a further 2.75 seconds you have already reached 200 km\/h - a total of 5.28 seconds from 0 to 200 kilometres per hour. Insane figures, to say the least!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Koenigsegg also brought a Gemera, which Christian himself posed in front of at their stand. They also brought a CC850, which was driven up the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another car brand I spent a lot of time with was Danish Zenvo<\/a>. Partly because their new model Aurora is incredibly stylish and impressive, but also because they had an upstairs in their booth where I could relax and drink cool, bubbly drinks. I also know Jens Sverdrup, who is both CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) and Chairman of the Board at Zenvo. I've known Jens for a long time - ever since he worked for Gran Turismo Events<\/a>, where we first got to know each other. After that he worked for a while at Koenigsegg as their Head of Communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 But Jens' track record is long. He has been CCO at Czinger Vehicles and helped Rimac Automobili<\/a> to develop their commercial structure and distribution channels. He is now CCO and Chairman of the Board at Zenvo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Zenvo stand I also met the car icon Tim Burton, aka Shmee150<\/a>. Tim of course brought some of his cars. I will of course return with an article and a test drive of Zenvo's latest model Aurora as soon as I get the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zenvo's latest model, the Aurora, which they also drove up the hill at Goodwood, is equipped with a ground-breaking 6.6-litre quad-turbo V12 engine developed with MAHLE Powertrain. Aurora is available in two versions: Tur and Agil. The Tur is all-wheel drive and, together with the hybrid system, has 1,850 horsepower. There is also the Agil model, which is rear-wheel drive and has 1,450 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also had a very nice meeting at Pagani<\/a>, together with their press officer Sebastian Berridi. We had already pre-booked my visit to Pagani for the end of September 2025. Last year, when I was in Italy, it coincided with a Pagani press event where they had already invited the media and only the very biggest media houses were invited - and that's not quite carscollection.com yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My relationship with Pagani has been going on for a long time - actually since 2005, so it's twenty years this year. When I was there for the first time in 2005, I met Mr Horacio Pagani himself and test drove a black Zonda. I was taking pictures for a Swedish magazine called Gear Magazin. Then I was there again in 2009 and test drove a Zonda F<\/a>. In 2019 it was time again, when I did an article about Pagani Huayra<\/a>. Although Pagani had their press event last year, I stopped by the factory on my trip to Italy and got a private tour of both the factory and the museum. There were all the three cars I just mentioned still in Pagani's possession - very nice to see and also something the girl from the factory who guided me was a bit impressed by!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of my trip this September, Sebastian and I planned to take a Pagani Utopia Coup\u00e9 out for a day's test drive. It is a true supercar in the class of Koenigsegg's models, although perhaps one should not compare these brands. Of course, I think Koenigsegg builds incredibly beautiful cars, but Pagani is a pure work of art on four wheels - if you ask me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pagani brought a number of cars. Firstly, the Utopia Coup\u00e9, which I will get to test drive when I come down at the end of September. But they also brought their latest addition: the Pagani Huayra R Evo Roadster, unveiled in 2023. The Pagani Huayra R Evo Roadster is a track-focused, open-top hypercar inspired by the Le Mans long-tail prototypes. It has a 900-horsepower V12 engine and was driven up the hill with a wonderful soundtrack. Also on display was the Pagani Utopia Roadster (Verde Mara) - the first version of the Utopia Roadster, dressed in a special Verde Mara paint inspired by a model car Horacio Pagani built as a child. As well as the Pagani Utopia Roadster (Rosso Habanero) model, Rosso Habanero is a shade of red with a strong, chilli-like glow. The name fits the red-painted bare carbon fibre very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing and showing about everything at the GoodWood Festival of Speed this year would make this article long enough to make a book. So below is a selection of pictures I want to show anyway. When I was past the Aston Martin stand and on the way met the legend Sir Jackie Stewart and got to take a selfie. When I was past Ferrari and took a look at their latest model Amalif. Up the hill, Ferrari drove with, among other things, 12Cilindri Grand Tourer, Ferrari Daytona SP3 and F80 to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or the Rolls Royce cars on display. There you could see the new version of Rolls Royce Phantom Goldfinger<\/a> edition. Obviously a car that stands me near thanks to its James Bond<\/a> clutch. The original was also on site. In Lamborghini's stand they showed the latest addition Temerario. But they also showed a brand new GT3 version of Temerario. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just to the left of the GoodWood house, a lot of privately owned cars were lined up, both old and new. So just on that part of the festival there were an incredible amount of nice cars worth a day to look at. Now the festival is only held for four days and as I mentioned, it was incredibly hot and the distance you had to walk each day was long. My pedometer showed over 20,000 steps. Next year it will probably be a car magnet Monterey<\/a> in California. But if you want to see more super sports cars than many people see in a lifetime, I recommend a visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
