The Range Rover Sport is already from the start a very sporty Range Rover model compared to the regular and slightly larger Range Rover. The larger version of the Range Rover has also come in an SV model, and the You can read the article here<\/a>. The Range Rover SV, on the other hand, is more luxurious than sporty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, the designation 'SVR' (Special Vehicle Racing) was used for top models with an extra sports focus, while 'SV' (Special Vehicle) could be used for other special models. Now, all SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) tops are branded as 'SV' only, making it 'cleaner' and more consistent. In an interview with Jamal Hameedi, Head of SV at JLR (Jaguar Land Rover), one of the reasons for dropping the 'R' is to make the brand appear more subtle and sophisticated - a more 'modern luxury' approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Range Rover Sport SV is of course also luxurious, but here the sporty attribute shines through. Partly because it has a 4.4-litre V8 engine, backed by BMW, with twin turbochargers and a whopping 635 horses to use. The 0-100 kilometres per hour time is 3.8 seconds, which is fast for a car this big. It's important not to compare it to electric cars of the calibre of the Tesla Model X Plaid, which can make that sprint in 2.3 seconds. The top speed of the Range Rover Sport SV is reached when the odometer needle stops at 290 kilometres per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Range Rover Sport is a relatively heavy car from the ground up. Without a driver, the car weighs 2,560kg. But if you choose to order the bonnet in carbon fibre, which you can do on the SV, you save six kilos. The Range Rover Sport SV is also equipped with a lot of other things in carbon fibre, which you who have followed me for a while know that I think is very nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot has been done to make the driving experience sportier in the Range Rover Sport SV. For example, the air suspension has been lowered a couple of centimetres. In addition, the adaptive shock absorbers have been hydraulically linked to each other. Thanks to the fact that the system operates on 48 volts, the need for anti-roll bars has been eliminated. So even when the road is heaving, the Range Rover Sport SV behaves exemplarily for such a large car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To bring the vehicle to a halt, there are Brembo brakes that have no less than eight pistons for the front callipers. For the first time, Land Rover is offering carbon-ceramic brake discs as an option, saving a further 34 kilos. However, if you want carbon-ceramic brake discs, you have to add SEK 109,900. If you have a little too much money in your account, you can add another SEK 160,900 to get 23-inch carbon fibre wheels. Not only will you have the coolest rims in town, it will also save you 36 kilos. However, it is recommended that you change the locking bolts every season to make it more difficult for clumsy people. If you choose all carbon fibre toys, you will save around 76 kilos. But the reduced weight on your wallet will definitely be felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I started carscollection.com, I borrowed some cars that unfortunately never became articles in any magazine or on any website. Of course, I always took pictures and shared them on my Instagram which you can find here. I am therefore incredibly grateful that I could start carscollection.com. One of the cars I borrowed, but never wrote an article about, was the previous version of the Range Rover Sport SVR. I drove that car up to STCC<\/a>-race in Skellefte\u00e5, where I was to shoot for the Polestar team I was working for at the time. I can say that I will never forget that trip. The roads up from Stockholm and via Hudiksvall were largely empty. It may have been a bit faster than the speed limit...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Range Rover Sport SV, with all the carbon fibre extras you can order, really is something special. But then you get a price tag on the car that is also something extra. The base price is from SEK 2,405,900. When I built a car on Range Rover's website, as I had wanted it and roughly like the picture I borrowed, it ended up at SEK 2,709,500. So 303 600 SEK extra. A considerable sum, of course, but then you can feel like a king behind the wheel with a clear conscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You'll quickly find your place in the incredibly comfortable seats of the Range Rover Sport SV. What's more, vibration generators have been fitted in the backrests. This is designed to enhance the audio experience, whether it's engine noise or what's playing on the sound system. When you want to listen to your favourite music, the sound system has certainly not been skimped on. There's a system from Meridian called the Meridian Signature Sound System. It has 29 speakers and a maximum power of 1430 watts. Alongside my job as a writing photographer, I also play records of an electronic nature and on vinyl. After a week with the Range Rover Sport SV, I am very impressed with what Range Rover has managed to do. The experience with the previous Range Rover Sport SVR is of course both difficult and stupid to try to beat. The Range Rover Sport SV really makes you enjoy every kilometre you drive. That it will then put a big hole in your wallet, both in the purchase and the amount of petrol the car will consume, is another matter entirely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
