Zeekr<\/a> The 7GT marks a new step for the brand and clearly shows its ambition to enter a more unusual segment of the electric car market. This is neither an SUV nor a traditional hatchback. Instead, the Zeekr 7GT is an electric GT, the Gran Tourer, with a focus on long-distance comfort, performance and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed with Europe in mind, the model is aimed at drivers who want to combine everyday functionality with a more low-slung and dynamic look. The shape signals driving pleasure and travelling rather than height and robustness, which distinguishes the model from many other electric cars on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zeekr, Geely and the Gothenburg connection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Zeekr is a relatively young car brand but has strong backing from the Geely Group, which also includes Volvo and Polestar. This gives the brand both industrial weight and technical experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Zeekr differs from many other new Chinese electric car brands in its clear European presence. The brand's research and development centre is located in Gothenburg, while production takes place in China. Design and engineering are thus strongly rooted in European car culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Zeekr 7GT, the brand takes another step towards a more classic GT ideal. Here the focus is on low ride height, stretched proportions and comfort at higher speeds, rather than SUV dominance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology platform and powertrains<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Zeekr 7GT is based on a modern 800-volt platform. It enables fast charging times, high energy efficiency and stable running on longer journeys. The platform also contributes to a smooth and predictable driving experience, especially on longer stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model is offered in three versions. The Privilege version is clearly different from the others in terms of performance. With all-wheel drive, the Zeekr 7GT Privilege can reach 0-100 km\/h in 3.3 seconds. The other two versions share the same level of acceleration and are more focused on comfort and everyday use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite clear performance figures, the focus is on balance, stability and long-distance driving rather than aggressive sportiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Versions and equipment levels<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Privilege serves as a clear reference for what the Zeekr 7GT offers as a model, as it includes all available features and technical solutions. It is also this version that best demonstrates the level Zeekr is aiming for in the GT segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other versions complete the range by offering different combinations of range, equipment and price. The Long Range version is aimed at drivers who prioritise maximum range, while the other versions offer the opportunity to choose the Zeekr 7GT according to individual needs without sacrificing the basic GT character of the model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery, range and charging<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the version, the Zeekr 7GT is offered with different battery configurations. It has a range of up to 655 kilometres according to the WLTP, making it well suited for longer journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charging performance is one of the model's clearest strengths. When DC fast charging, the Zeekr 7GT can receive up to 480 kW of maximum power. This means the car can charge around 340 kilometres in around 10 minutes. Under optimum conditions, it can also charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 13 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For AC charging, up to 22 kW is supported, providing fast charging even with home or destination chargers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design and GT identity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In terms of design, the Zeekr 7GT is clearly positioned as a GT car. The low roofline, long doors and stretched rear end create a silhouette that signals movement and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, the design language is relatively pared down. The focus is on aerodynamics and clean surfaces rather than aggressive details. The overall impression is elegant and understated, in line with the car's long-distance focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My first acquaintance with the Zeekr 7GT was during a static display in Zeekr's showroom in Stockholm, located in Gallerian. There I had the opportunity to experience the car in peace and quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior gives a clear premium impression. The layout is modern and digital, yet calm and considered. Material choices feel lavish and cohesive, with a clear focus on comfort for longer journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous experience with Zeekr 001<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

However, my relationship with Zeekr did not start with the Zeekr 7GT. In the past, I have had the opportunity to drive the Zeekr 001 for a longer period, something I also wrote an extensive article about on CarsCollection.com.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zeekr 001 impressed with its comfort, stability and quiet running at higher speeds. That experience now serves as a clear reference when I meet the Zeekr 7GT. It is clear that the brand is further developing its GT concept without losing its basic character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices and positioning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Zeekr 7GT is offered at competitive prices in terms of technology and equipment. The entry-level Core version has a starting price from SEK 494,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top-of-the-range Privilege version is fully equipped with four-wheel drive, air suspension and electrically operated doors. It is priced at around SEK 635,000, which puts the Zeekr 7GT firmly in the premium segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First impressions of Zeekr 7GT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even without having driven the car, the Zeekr 7GT makes a strong first impression. The combination of the GT format, long range and very fast charging makes it a clear alternative to the traditional electric SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the experience of the Zeekr 001 behind us, the Zeekr 7GT seems like a logical next step. The Gran Tourer concept feels well thought out and relevant, both technically and in terms of design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
