The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is Ferrari's first series-produced hybrid hypercar. In this article, I document the Ferrari SF90 Stradale during two days in Sweden, focusing on driving experience, design and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not all articles are finalised when they are supposed to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I had the opportunity to work with the Ferrari SF90 Stradale<\/strong> CarsCollection.com was still just an idea. The material was originally developed for publication on Enliven.co, where much of my work was published at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly afterwards, there was a serious motorbike accident that put the pace on hold while I was in hospital. During the same period, Enliven.co also disappeared, and the article about the Ferrari SF90 Stradale ended up without its intended place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When work could eventually be resumed, the need for a platform of its own emerged. CarsCollection.com became the answer to that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SF90 Stradale is still as extreme, as relevant and as worthy of documentation. This is that documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari SF90 Stradale in Sweden<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The experience of having a Ferrari SF90 Stradale for two days at home in Sweden<\/strong> is indeed a rarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This happened when the oilseed rape fields were in full bloom in Sk\u00e5ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the story began in Stockholm, in the hangar where Industry Aviation<\/a> is located. There I got to photograph the Ferrari SF90 Stradale that I would later take with me south for two full days in Sk\u00e5ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari F40 and memories of Maranello<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The hangar in Bromma also had Autoropa<\/a> brought a Ferrari F40<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Ferrari F40 was built in the late 1980s, I visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello with my father Bengt Ason Holm when he was photographing for the book Cars Collection. The craftsmanship at the factory is very different from the work done there today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experiencing the factory during that period was an incredible experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari SF90 Stradale <\/strong>1 000 horsepower<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With its 1,000 horsepower, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is one of the most powerful models Ferrari has ever built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that the model is also four-wheel drive makes it one of the most technologically advanced Ferraris to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience in extreme performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have had the privilege of driving many extremely powerful and accelerating cars over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A clear example is Tesla Model X Plaid<\/a>, which, with its 0-100 km\/h time of around 2.3 seconds, redefines what acceleration can be in a seemingly mundane family format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also test driven a large number of super sports cars and even sat behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car<\/a>. It provides a broad frame of reference in terms of absolute performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Ferrari pushes the boundaries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite these experiences, the acceleration of the SF90 Stradale is extraordinary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The combination of internal combustion engine and electric drive creates a power delivery that is both brutal and controlled. The acceleration is literally felt directly in the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swedish speed limits naturally put a stop to exploring the car's ultimate potential, but even within the confines of the law it is possible to understand the level at which the SF90 Stradale actually operates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari's first plug-in hybrid<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale marks one of the biggest technological leaps in the brand's modern history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name SF90 is a direct reference to Scuderia Ferrari's 90th anniversary. The model was developed with a clear goal: to show how electrification can enhance the traditional Ferrari experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was Ferrari's first mass-produced plug-in hybrid<\/strong> and at the same time the most powerful street car the brand has ever built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The powertrain of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the SF90 Stradale is a 4.0-litre V8 with twin turbochargers<\/strong>, complemented by three electric motors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, the system delivers close to 1 000 horsepower<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two electric motors drive the front wheels while the third is integrated into the gearbox. The solution gives the car four-wheel drive without mechanical coupling between the axles and makes it possible to drive fully electrically at low speeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just a few years ago, such a solution would have been unthinkable in a Ferrari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari SF90 Stradale - precision rather than drama<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Behind the wheel, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale feels more clinical than emotional on first impressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steering is extremely direct, the chassis stable and the acceleration almost unreal. Rather than overwhelming the driver with noise and drama, the car works with precision and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's a Ferrari that demands confidence and concentration but at the same time delivers a stability that allows performance to be used more controlled than in previous top models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari SF90 Stradale - a new chapter in Ferrari's history<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When Ferrari SF90 Stradale<\/strong> was presented in Maranello, it was clear that Ferrari was facing a choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electrification was controversial internally. But instead of compromising, Ferrari chose to create the most extreme car it had ever built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SF90 Stradale was therefore not a departure from the brand's history, but a new chapter that shows where Ferrari is heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technical information and facts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari SF90 Stradale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Price: from around \u20ac5,400,000 (at launch in Europe, often significantly higher in real business).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engine: 4.0-litre V8 biturbo combined with three electric motors. Battery approximately 7.9 kWh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power: 1 000 hp in total. Torque approximately 800 Nm from the internal combustion engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transmission: Four-wheel drive via two electric motors at the front (RAC-e) and one electric motor at the rear. 8-speed dual clutch transmission (F1 DCT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top speed: approximately 340 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

0-100 km\/h: approximately 2.5 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electric range: up to approximately 25 km according to WLTP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
