If you want to enjoy every time you start the engine and rev it up, which is usually synonymous with sports cars. But at the same time, you want a very comfortable car that works all year round. Add to that the fact that it has to accommodate the whole family and has a lovely appearance. Then you should continue reading this article about the Jaguar F-Pace SVR.

The F-Pace model was unveiled in 2015, which was also Jaguar's first SUV. Jaguar is also celebrating 90 years as a brand. Jaguar themselves like to call the F-Pace model the "Performance crossvover". With the F-Pace fitted with the SVR add-on, it certainly fits the bill. A performance crossvover is exactly what the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is.

The number of competitors in this class is numerous, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW and Alfa Romeo to name a few. So the battle for this type of car model is fierce. I have driven many of the competitors and I still think the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is doing really well.

The first thing that strikes you when you see the car is how neat and clean it is. You have some details that certainly reveal that it is something a little special and not a regular F-Pace, especially the four exhausts at the rear. Then the new front with the large air intakes, the black decor around the air intakes in the front and the same around the wheel arches. In addition, there are air intakes on the bonnet that gossip that there is something resting underneath that needs more air.

When you step into the car, you immediately feel at ease. Especially in the press car that was equipped with black and white interior. Sporty luxury is the feeling I get when I step into the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Together with the red tone, called Sanguinello orange, on the outside of the car, it looks incredibly good. How practical and how hard it is to keep an interior like this clean, I won't say.

The infotainment system called Pivi is controlled by an 11.4-inch touchscreen. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR has also been equipped with a more advanced version called Pivi Pro. Pivi Pro has received a much-needed update from previous versions and actually works very well now. Of course, you can connect your iPhone or Android phone wirelessly to the system. In a new car, it obviously takes some time to get into everything and find all the functions. But after a week with the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, I feel that it mostly makes sense and I have the control I need. In addition, there is a fully digital screen that is 12.3 inches in front of the steering wheel and you can choose which driving info you want there. In addition, there is also a so-called head-up display where you can also get the necessary info and which you see through the window when you look ahead.

But back to the engine, that lovely V8 engine. A 5-litre V8 engine that is also fitted with a supercharger. A total of 550 horsepower and 700 Newton metres. 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4 seconds. If you choose to drive with the exhaust valves closed, this engine will certainly not make itself heard unnecessarily. But if you choose to open the throttle and switch to dynamic driving mode, the character of the car really changes drastically. The cabin fills with melody if you experience a V8 sound as such, which I do. Then the overall character of the car also changes to something sporty instead of a comfortable long-distance car. But if you still want a comfortable car but still that sweet sound of the V8 engine, there is a button to just make the engine sound louder. I have of course pressed it all the time.

I have driven many sporty SUVs. Unfortunately, I find a lot of them too sporty and not very comfortable when, for example, you are just going for normal city driving or a longer drive. This is where the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is actually very good. It's both comfortable for everyday driving and incredibly comfortable for longer distances. The steering, which has also been updated, is very direct and you really feel what is happening on the road. But still not so that it becomes uncomfortable for longer trips, which it can easily become if the steering is too direct.

So if finances are not the first thing you need to consider when buying a car and you want a stylish, clean and really fast SUV that takes the whole family summer and winter. Then you should take a closer look and book a test drive of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Although you'll never get tired of the sound of the lovely V8 engine in the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, the F-Pace is available in a few other options, but not with the great-sounding V8 engine. There's a plug-in hybrid and one with a smaller V6 engine. But do you want to enjoy the sound of the engine every time you start the car? Then the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is the car for you!
